Veterinary Services

Cat Care

We are pleased to provide 24-hour emergency service to give you the peace of mind that your regular veterinarian can examine your pet in the event of an emergency situation. Emergency services are provided through the Orrville Veterinary Clinic.

Acupuncture is the use of small needles that are inserted into "trigger points," which are specific points targeted to simulate the desired healing effects.  Acupuncture cases the release of cortisol and endorphins.

We are closely affiliated and located adjacent to the Orrville Pet Spa and Resort. This premier boarding and grooming facility offers many services for our canine and feline friends.

Our laser therapy unit adds a great, non-invasive therapy to our toolbox.  This laser therapy unit uses various wavelengths of light that are generally in the "red" spectrum, to deliver energy to the affected tissue.

This technology uses liqud nitrogen, targeted through a small, handheld device.  The liquid nitrogen serves to "freeze" the target tissue.  This allows us to remove smaller lumps and bumps with little to no anesthesia.

We offer a wide variety of lab services. We perform the majority of the services at the clinic, so results are available on the day that they are performed. Some tests must be performed at an outside laboratory.

X-rays allow us to see the size and shape of many of the internal organs and bones, as well as to see many foreign bodies that your pet may have swallowed. We can administer barium and other contrast agents to help highlight many conditions.

We strive to educate pet owners about their newest family members. We cover many topics such as housebreaking, vaccination schedules, dental care, flea and tick control, heartworm prevention, pet proofing of your home, and several ideas to ensure quality care of your pet.

We can place a small microchip under the skin of your pet for identification purposes should your pet become lost. Using a scanner, each pet can be identified and then returned to their family, but only if a microchip is present

Eye care is another critical component to the care of your pet. Changes to the appearance of the eye can be an indication of several systemic diseases. We are able to perform glaucoma screening using tonometry (eye pressure).

Lameness is also a very common problem in our pet population. We offer complete orthopedic evaluations and treatment on an out patient basis.

Dogs and Cats can acquire parasite infestations, both internally and externally.  We utilize the most recent medications, treatments and preventatives that are available to manage these parasites.

Medications are often necessary for the optimum care of your pet. We have an in-house pharmacy. In the pharmacy, we can tailor our treatment to the need of your specific pet.

Professional physical examinations are the most important aspect of quality pet care. Because animals age faster than their owners, examinations are needed more frequently than once a year.

Preventative health care is more than just vaccinations.  We strive to educate clients on proper vaccination protocols, heartworm prophylaxis, nutritional support, and weight management.

Radiowave surgery is the newest surgical technology that is available. We feature the Ellman Radiofrequency unit. This technology is above and beyond the laser.

Occasionally a pet may require the care of a specialist. Veterinary specialists are certified and trained in specific areas of medicine or surgery. We have a relationship with several referral institutions.

Once a pet reaches the age of seven (even earlier in some large breed dogs), they are entering their senior years. The health of your pet can change very rapidly during these senior years.

We are also one of the more progressive surgical practices in the area, offering anal gland removal and other more delicate soft tissue surgical procedures.

Ultrasound technology can be used for so much more than just diagnosis of pregnancy. We use ultrasound to highlight the internal structures using sound waves
