VACCINATIONS: AVMA STANDARD OF CARE

At Veterinary Wellness Partners, we follow the most current recommendations from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) (Canine & Feline) to ensure pets are protected without being over-vaccinated.

We carefully tailor vaccination plans to each individual pet, considering factors such as lifestyle, overall health, and the prevalence of specific diseases in our region. This personalized approach helps provide the right level of protection while prioritizing your pet’s safety and well-being.

APPOINTMENT POLICIES

We kindly ask that you cancel or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance.

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, late arrivals, and no-shows are considered missed appointments. Following a missed appointment, a $25 deposit may be required to schedule future appointments. This deposit will be applied toward your pet’s visit but is non-refundable if another appointment is missed or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice.

SURGERY

All surgeries require a $100 deposit to reserve the scheduled time. We ask that you cancel or reschedule surgical appointments at least 48 hours in advance to allow us the opportunity to offer the time to another patient. Surgeries canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice or missed without notice are considered missed surgeries. Following a missed surgery, future procedures may require a deposit of 50% of the estimated surgery cost. Surgical deposits are applied toward the procedure but are non-refundable if another surgery is missed or canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice.

NEW CLIENTS

New clients are required to place a $25 deposit per pet when scheduling their first appointment. This deposit will be applied toward the cost of the visit. The deposit is non-refundable if the appointment is missed or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. By providing timely notice of cancellations and rescheduling requests, you help us make the most of our appointment availability and ensure that we can continue providing timely, quality care to all of our patients.

Thank you for trusting Veterinary Wellness Partners with your pets’ care!

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Veterinary Wellness Partners locations accept cash, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and Care Credit. Payment is due at the time of service. We do not offer payment plans. For pets requiring hospitalization or an involved surgery, clients may be required to leave an initial deposit to cover one-half of the provided estimate. For unexpected costs during a crisis, we recommend that our clients apply for a Care Credit account. Clients are expected to make staff aware of any financial challenges before treatment has begun.

RX REFILLS

When requesting a prescription refill, please allow 24 hours for our team to prepare it for you as the doctor will need to review your pet’s records to approve the refill - as required by federal law - and the assistants have to package and label the medication. We cannot guarantee that walk-in requests can be accommodated . Over the counter items like shampoos can be purchased with no prior notice. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

You can request prescription refills by calling or emailing us. We cannot approve prescriptions for any third party pharmacies (this includes Chewy, Amazon, Drug Mart, etc.) by phone, fax, or email. If you prefer to obtain your prescription from a third party pharmacy, we can provide a written prescription for you to pick up to send or take to your pharmacy of choice.

Federal law states that patients receiving prescription items require an examination by the doctor within the past twelve months. If your pet has not been examined by a VWP doctor within that time frame, you will need to make an appointment to have your pet physically examined by the doctor before any medications may be prescribed. Please plan accordingly. Some medications will require additional examinations and/or diagnostics prior to refills at the doctors discretion for the efficacy and safety of your pet.

Prescription medications are not able to be returned once they have left the building, according to state law.
